Being 'Green' and the world at large

I wanted to share this article with you. Thomas L. Friedman's, the author of the popular book The World Is Flat,  writing always fascinates me. He really has a way of saying things, and without flowers. Here is a link to his recent piece: "What They Really Believe". This is for all of you you have had a difficult time trying to express yourself to those who question "climate change" and other impacts by people on the world.

Yes, it is an opinion piece. But it is nice to read something that is able express what has been rolling around in my head for quite some time. Thank you Tom Friedman for putting words to those thoughts.

My favorite statement in this Freeman piece;  "I am a clean-energy hawk. Green for me is not just about recycling garbage but about renewing America." Because we all really know it has to go beyond our garbage cans.

My second favorite statement by Freeman, has that nice sardonic tone that only a very confident and non apologetic person can use in public. "And, finally, they believe that people in the developing world are very happy being poor — just give them a little running water and electricity and they’ll be fine. They’ll never want to live like us." Granted maybe the "they believe" in the article really don't say this. However, not looking beyond our over all and immediate actions for and in this environment can essentially be saying just this.

Give it a read and let me know what you think.
