About the Climate Change argument
Tired of the arguments from non believers in climate change. Well Tom Friedman does it again in his article "Going Cheney on Climate" in his New York Times Op-Ed piece. I mentioned before how Mr. Friedman has a way with words. In this article, he gives us a nice way of turning the tables on those who will argue against the need to change our energy needs and production:
"“According to the Precautionary Principle, it is appropriate to respond aggressively to low-probability, high-impact events — ""
Just like Mr. Cheney stated in the response to Pakastani nuclear threats. Now how do you argue with reasoning like that. Go and read the article for a clearer developement of the arguement. Like I said Friedman has a better way with words than I do.
Now those who view climate change as not a problem will probably still argue against it. But I will bet they will at least stumble a bit with this arguement. Especially since the idea/principle comes from Mr. Cheney himself (possibly and idol of theirs).
Go ahead, try it out. Let me know how it works out for you. Hey, it doesn't cost anything execept some time and personal energy (which is renewable :) In the longer run it will save us some money and pay forward.
