  • Budget Artist - yes you are already and expert without  you knowing!

Do you realise how creative you have to be on a Budget?

You probably don't give yourself enough credit for the good you do.

Its always easier to condemn and criticize the mistakes we make.

Why do we put ourselves through that hell and pain?

    Its crazy!

Something we all do at times no matter where we are in our
    world.

The word "Budget" conjures up often negative feelings and a
thoughts of this is too hard.

  • Welcome to 2010 – a new year, a new decade. And, just how, I ask you, did this all happen so quickly? Wasn’t it only a few months ago that we were ushering in a new millenium; worrying about computers crashing with the onset of Y2K?
Well, we did survive the onset of the 21st century. And we did survive its first decade – one that was fraught with a multitude of challenges.

  • It's 2010 - a New Generation is beginning!

It's a time to be creative with your travel.

Not to accept the normal ways of doing everyday activities.

It's a time of innovation, reflection, motivation and doing. What am I raving on about?

  • No, I am not talking about food. Though that can be frozen and eaten at a later time as well.

Don't just throw away those Christmas cards that were sent to you: you can cut off the note part and store the cover for so many things, like tags for next year's presents. We have also cut the covers up and created out own Christmas cards the following year. They can also be made into ornaments for next year. And I'm not talking the one's they do in schools. (more on ornaments next holiday season and it works into a nice home math lesson as well).

  • I would say I did much better on environmental resolutions than I did on personal ones? Particularly because I hate resolutions. However, I think Beth Terry of Oakland, CA and the Fake Plastic Fish website takes the cake on completing and documenting her 2009 Plastic Resolution.

  • I am against New Year's resolutions as a rule. Why? Because we set ourselves up for failure every time. The idea that at the beginning of the New Year you have to make yourself change is not a good way to make change. For example, many people want to lose weight for the New Year. Losing weight is not a horrible goal but we often set the number too high – 50 pounds a year should be an obtainable goal but most people don’t want to lose 50 pounds over the year, they want to lose 50 pounds by summer or 10 pounds in a week.

  • A cardinal principle of Total Quality escapes too many managers: you cannot continuously improve interdependent systems and processes until you progressively perfect interdependent, interpersonal relationships.

  • Tired of the arguments from non believers in climate change. Well Tom Friedman does it again in his article "Going Cheney on Climate" in his New York Times Op-Ed piece. I mentioned before how Mr. Friedman has a way with words. In this article, he gives us a nice way of turning the tables on those who will argue against the need to change our energy needs and production:
"“According to the Precautionary Principle, it is appropriate to respond aggressively to low-probability, high-impact events — ""

  • It seems counter-productive to pour salt water into your nose for health but Indian medicine has proven that washing your nasal passages out with a saline solution prevents allergies and illnesses. A Neti Pot is a small tea pot with a long spout designed to pour a designated amount of saline into your nostril. The water runs from one nostril to the other and out of your body.

  • I wanted to share this article with you. Thomas L. Friedman's, the author of the popular book The World Is Flat,  writing always fascinates me. He really has a way of saying things, and without flowers. Here is a link to his recent piece: "What They Really Believe". This is for all of you you have had a difficult time trying to express yourself to those who question "climate change" and other impacts by people on the world.
